John Smith - The Improbable Man

Bio

John was born in an average town, raised by good, but otherwise average people. He is also average, but the things that happen to him are not.

Powers

People learning of the source of his unusual lot in life might explain it in some magical way, or say that his "power" is luck. It's not, as John has no actual powers. He is a product of probability. At some point in an extremely large frame of time, one person will have had things go "his way" more than any other person. John Smith is that person. He prefers to refer to the reason for his unusual life as "the Lottery", because somebody has to win the Lottery eventually, and other than the nature of money, it doesn't make them any different than the rest of us.

Notes

John is the main character, that should be pretty obvious. What might not be so obvious is why he is the main character. There are (or will be) characters in the story that are larger, more powerful, and more distinctive than John. He is the center of the story because while the sum of his life is nothing remotely like yours or mine, he is still a completely normal human being that feels somewhat at the mercy of his environment. This, I feel, allows him to be easier to identify with than a man who cannot be killed by anything but a glowing, green rock.
